  Poetry I Guess

I look at my cell but forget why

Oh my

Then I remember pages to see any notes

But there’re none

That says I’ve written from the last ones I’d dictated

And for some reason, some urge, some inspiration

This time around’s in verse

Which doesn’t help define about what

As I sit through the beginnings of a second sweltering day

Yes, it’s going to be hot

So I should stop and lay out for a bit

Maybe

I’m in a coffee mood not iced

Just in a mood

Bean burrito filling simmering on the stove

Aroma infiltrates the air

Inviting

But I just had Nutella on toast

That should suffice for now

Had to add that to my vocabulary

The programmer had no clue about Nutella

Tool

Well, found the cursor but my scroll bar is still lost

I’m not sure what happened or how to get it back

Sometimes I hate updates

Whose brilliant idea was this

Well in any case good morning on my silent Saturday

Espresso, cooking and me make three

Think I’ll slip into something less

Lay outside to toast, sweat

Soak in vitamin D

After I give what’s on the stovetop a stir

Or

Do I just want to fall asleep

Friendly Ghosts

“I wanted to give him vitamins

Yes I did

Don’t let me forget”

She sat staring at the salt lamp glow

For no apparent reason

No

She sat staring at the salt lamp glow

Was it because of Jimmy Stewart in that movie

He quoted Neruda throughout

“I had a book of his works”

She’d thought as she watched wishing it were still around

Or had recollection of what had happened to it

Did she leave it behind somewhere

“What am I watching

The lamp doesn’t move

Though improving quality of air”

She sat with that sleepy stare

And nothing has to rhyme either

Still she sat

“I want to give him vitamins, get up”

As she fixed her typos from two hands of thumbs

“May be a sign, no, it is a sign

Stop

Make a breakfast smoothie too”

That was it

She got up

Worlds Collide

Part of me is in storage in another storage space

Part of me is here under my own nose

Part of me awaits help to move into one place

Part of me is longing for when I’ll see your face

My home is not where I live now

That part of me not far

But these pieces need to come together

A puzzle to be designed

Will I be at peace at last?

At ease will it be my mind

Happiness it could exist if parts fall into place

Another part of me moves closer

Filling empty space

Here I sit for lack of sleep

Martini ebbs away

A movie now keeps company

Closing out another day

Fill me sleep rest now my heart I command

Look toward those better days

Though I cannot see so far beyond me

Yet a magnet I now play
