“Rude crude chewed food dude…” Remember?

When a family friend posted a link to this “tried and true” recipe on Facebook, I knew that I was going to make it for sure. Not only is she a wonderful cook, but she also endorsed it by saying that she’s been making it for ten years! This hearty and healthy stew-like soup is […]

Humility And Slippers

Just thoughts

No punctuation

Life does change in a blink

Officially retired now first benefit in

The sky is beginning to lighten think I’ll open the blinds a bit

Guy in the building behind me keeps looking in my direction

Means nothing but maybe though he’s a smoker

How many have I seen freezing in below zero desperate for the first drag

Drag so many different implications

The complexity of English to frustrate students

Could make a good lesson could be fun

Note

No doubt a coffee on the horizon somewhere

Shall We Do Another New Year Thing 2018 This Time Around

I have time in the morning now before I head out to work so how will I utilize? I’ll come up with something while 60 degrees becomes 50, 40 and 30s by tonight holding in the 30s according to the forecast. It could change in a blink but thanks for those few days of reprieve. I haven’t missed the heat running and here comes the sun. Let me open the blinds.

It occurred to me I could take a nap. I knew that…

Something Different Or Not

Sitting here and I want to write

About what I don’t know

But i want to

Though…

Look, a typo…

That’s terrible I said to myself as I sat at the table, should I give myself a name or say it’s me but not me the person who’s writing, that fictitious author who’s the writer telling a story – that’s different and very deep. Don’t know. I am listening to that miserable music when you’re on hold trying not to listen and focus somewhere else. Not that that’s working either, but it is somewhat. She…oops…. I checked the time. The wait period was almost up.

“Hope they’re punctual.”

And Gunther Was His Name-O

I felt happy though I didn’t know why

For the past couple of days a lightening of spirit

Really

Arnold makes cappuccino in huge cups like him

I shouldn’t be surprised with skulls no hearts

Cool

Sprinkled cinnamon design or was it cocoa

Hope he used Italian espresso at least

I’ll say it was good, don’t know

As I sip mine in a cappuccino cup designed in Italy

Smaller

It’s early yet no light no sun hours to go

Anyway I watched that movie because he was in it

Though more tan half went by before I saw him

Different and interesting flick

Comedy not too gross not exactly family

But I appreciate the grownup aim like in kids cartoons gone by

Wouldn’t mind owning a copy

Oh

Clothing in the dryer tumble

Think the washer is rinsing that second time

Predatorial, Territorial, Perfectly Frozen With Stars

Sounds like it should pack a wallop, no? Who’s to say? It came to me as I was beginning to wake and then when I sat and I thought Ok, let’s see what manifests… and don’t let me forget to fill the Pur water pitcher, it’s getting low, in fact; maybe right now, or should it be it’s getting low; in fact, maybe right now. I get those confused but there is google. Between the two this won’t take long, won’t even feel like a blink.

Semi first, comma second; there, that’s solved.

Once a friend laughed uncomfortably when she saw the socks I was wearing under my boots were wool hunting socks, men’s wool hunting socks. She said ‘they look like what my husband wears’ and I agreed they probably were, they’re men’s socks, women don’t have socks like this, they are so warm, I buy them very year. She laughed again in a mocking way not that it mattered to me. I thought it a shame she missed the value of it; nothing wrong with being warm but she doesn’t have to wear them if she doesn’t want, though it is one less thing for them to share: “Honey, where are my socks”, “I’m wearing your last pair, the others are in the wash, use a pair of those ones you wear with the suit”, “They won’t keep my feet warm”, “You’ll be fine”. It’s like bobby pins in the tackle box or wet stockings hanging where the bathroom towel should be. Why would you want to miss out?

It stayed in the teens last night and the high today could reach 20; our heat wave continues for a second day. The days are staying lighter longer, have been since December 22, spring is coming. Can’t you feel it? It’s going to happen.
