Business Close To Midnight

Better than expected

To put a smile on my face

A perfect stranger

Little things matter

They do

I’m exhausted though

So sleep

Breathe deep, quiet peace

Breathe it in

Turmoil will keep

Like that rust that never will

Yet

Martini, sip

Don’t spill it

Savor its ice-cold bite

Not crystal clear

No

Emptied the cocktail onion jar of the bits settled

Saturated at the bottom

Too much brine

A little off white

They’ll suffice
